This course presents an overview of HP's Series 800 business server
solutions strategy, hardware and software.  This includes detailed
discussions of the product line, as well as HP's Systems Management,
High Availability, Information Management, CASE, and Client/Server
Computing offerings.  This course is currently scheduled for a December
1992 update that will reflect new additions to the Series 800 product
line and solutions.

SR187     UNIX Basics
A score of 80% or better on Mastery Test represents satisfactory

STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
o     Describe the "Open For Business" strategy.
o     List the features/benefits of the HP 9000 Series 800 product
      line.
o     Given a customer situation, make a preliminary identification of
      appropriate Series 800 hardware.
o     Describe the components of the HP-UX environment, and the
      benefits each offers customers.
o     Describe common Systems Management needs, and HP's solutions.
o     Describe common customer Information Management needs, and HP's
      solutions.
o     Describe common High Availability needs, and HP's solutions.
                                      
o     Describe common customer CASE needs, and HP's solutions.
o     Describe Client/Server computing, its benefits to customers, and
      HP's solutions.
